Bali Zoo is one of the best tourist attractions in Bali. The zoo is located on 8 hectares of lush tropical garden in Singapadu village, Gianyar regency. The Bali Zoo is home to a variety of tropical plants and an extensive collection of fauna ranging from mammals, birds and reptiles. The zoo is shady and fun to navigate and also features experiences, such as elephant rides and horses, photo sessions with animals, as well as adventure out.


Since its establishment in 2002, the Bali Zoo has expanded the range of features in addition to the existing daily programs. The zoo set up an evening attraction package in 2007 that brought visitors to observe hundreds of animals after dusk. ‘Night at The Zoo’ allows you to observe the number of Bali Zoo nocturnal animals held on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 WITA, concluded by a fire dance performance. During the day, the zoo is a place where families and children can meet various animals in a safe place, including Sumatran tigers, white tigers, lions, deer pigs, deer, orangutans, dragons, crocodiles, iguanas, turtles, snakes, Bali starlings, cassowaries, peacocks and many other exotic creatures.

Bali zoo also managed to breed a number of animals. The Bengal tigers, named Buntung and Kartini, have produced seven generations of children, the latest being the trio, Punja, Delta and Ganges. A successful breeding program has produced more than 15 tigers since 2007. The daily program includes feeding animals, and if it’s funny and fancy you – why not go to the petting area and curl up with a baby monkey? Bali zoo staff will help take photos for you or help pick them up with your own camera. All residents are fully treated by resident veterinarians.
